About the Orchestra
League City Intermediate is part of Clear Creek Independent School District, in League City Texas.
The Orchestra has a long history of performing excellent music through talented ensembles.
The League City Intermediate Chamber Orchestra was awarded the Mark of Excellence in 2016.
LCIS Orchestra has consistently won UIL Sweepstakes awards across all three performing ensembles. In 2016, all 3 performing ensembles received Sweepstakes for the first time in LCIS History and have continued that tradition since!
Students in the advanced orchestras at League City frequently place in the Region 17 Orchestras and numerous students receive Superior ratings for performances at Solo & Ensemble festival in February each year.
In 2010, LCIS debuted a series of concert productions called "Haunt-certs" which combined a story acted out on stage with music, all performed by orchestra members. Since 2010, it has been a tradition to perform these stories with musical accompaniment:
