About the Orchestra

League City Intermediate is part of Clear Creek Independent School District, in League City Texas.
The Orchestra has a long history of performing excellent music through talented ensembles.
The League City Intermediate Chamber Orchestra submitted a recording for the TMEA Honor Orchestra competition at the Middle School String level and ranked 10th place in the state of Texas in 2014 & 2015. The LCIS 2015-2016 Chamber Orchestra was also awarded the Mark of Excellence in 2016.
LCIS Orchestra has consistently won UIL Sweepstakes awards across all three performing ensembles. In 2016, all 3 performing ensembles received Sweepstakes for the first time in LCIS History! The orchestra has competed at the Early Music Festival at the Texas Renaissance Festival, placing first many years in a row.
Students in the advanced orchestras at League City frequently place in the Region 17 Orchestras and numerous students receive Superior ratings for performances at Solo & Ensemble festival in February each year.
In 2010, LCIS debuted a series of concert productions called "Haunt-certs" which combined a story acted out on stage with music, all performed by orchestra members. Since 2010, it has been a tradition to perform these stories with musical accompaniment:
